About Alicia
Rev. Alicia Buhler, M.Div. |
Creativity, mystery, and embodiment have been themes in my own life story. I have personally experienced and continue to receive the gifts of a guide on my journey. |
I am a spiritual care provider, fertility coach, and author. I hold a Master of Divinity degree (Pastoral Care and Counselling) and a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology). My educational background and experience have focused on counselling, chaplaincy, and spiritual direction.
In addition, I am qualified as a Freedom Fertility Formula Specialist to help those struggling to conceive find their centre and regain confidence. I have completed supervised training in Gestalt Pastoral Care which integrates embodied and awareness-based tools with spirituality. I have also been Reiki Level II attuned.
Supporting individuals and families through infertility, miscarriage, stillbirth, and early infant loss has been a sacred part of my professional journey as I have lived my own story of infertility and loss. I am the author of Minister’s Handbook of Reproductive Loss: A guide to care following loss at the beginning of life (2014).
Caring for professional caregivers, whether pastors, spiritual directors, therapists, teachers, healthcare professionals, and even parents – all of whom are at high risk of compassion fatigue and burnout – has also been an important part of my work.
I am a member of Spiritual Directors International and Mennonite Spiritual Directors of Eastern Canada,
and an Ordained Minister of Mennonite Church Eastern Canada.

I am open to meeting with people of many faith backgrounds and spiritual orientations. I find my own grounding in the Anabaptist-Christian faith.
